Chicago locals, an SAIC alum and current student, and artists from around the world have come together to expand the Hubbard Street Murals.

SAIC alum and fashion designer, Tamara Malas (BFA 2012), is a plus-size woman who designs for plus-size people. 

"When I bought my home in 2013, I set out to accomplish two goals: 1. to experience, first hand, the process of restoring a historic home and 2. to create a comfortable home big enough to contain the large number of treasures I had amassed from family members over the years."

Los Angeles-based artist Martine Syms (BFA 2007) recently mounted a solo show featuring her debut feature-length film, Incense Sweaters & Ice at the Graham Foundation in Chicago.

Newcity magazine includes SAIC faculty and alums on their 2019 Players Hall of Fame list.

Charles Harrison (BFA 1954) was a celebrated designer known for improving upon more than 750 designs as the first African American executive for Sears, Roebuck and Company.
