SAIC Student to Attend Yale Norfolk School of Art Summer Residency

SAIC undergraduate student Juan Arango Palacios (BFA 2020) has been accepted into the prestigious Yale Norfolk School of Art for a summer 2019 residency.  Established in 1948, the Yale Norfolk Summer School of Art is the preeminent undergraduate summer art residency in the United States. Taking place at the  Ellen Battell Stoeckel Estate in Norfolk, Connecticut, the program brings together 26 rising seniors enrolled as undergraduate art students and juried from nominations by deans and directors from more than 200 institutions across the United States and abroad. Renowned for its programs in graphic design, painting/printmaking, photography, and sculpture, Yale Norfolk School of Art has a celebrated legacy of artists including alums Eva Hesse, Sheila Hicks, Robert Mangold, Brice Marden, Vija Celmins, Sarah Oppenheimer, Sarah Sze, and Mickalene Thomas, among many others.
