Ann Lui Named One of Chicago Magazine's Next Power Players

Assistant Professor Ann Lui (Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects) was included in Chicago magazine's list of 17 emerging power players for her work as "the activist architect." Lui was chosen for her work as cofunder of Future Firm as well as her contribution as cocurator of the US Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale's exhibition, Dimensions of Citizenship, currently on view at Wrightwood 659. "Among the solutions she is working on locally: inexpensive model homes and the establishment of the architectural equivalent of a public defender to help people with building violations. Seeing problems as opportunities — that’s arguably the defining trait of a visionary," says Chicago magazine.
