Faculty Members Tim Parsons and Jessica Charlesworth Receive Lumen Prize

Professor Tim Parsons and Lecturer Jessica Charlesworth were awarded The Lumen Prize for the multimedia installation Catalog for the Post-Human (2021). Their studio, Parsons & Charlesworth, created the installation as a boisterous display of consumer grade post-human products that focus on the optimization of the human routine. From accessories that track your productivity, to IVs that remove the need for meal breaks, their commentary explores our direct competition with artificial intelligence. The prize is given annually to the best work that explores the relationship between society and technology, including work that uses AI, robotics, human-computer interaction, quantum technology, or bio and sustainable technology.
