Newcity Film 50 Celebrates SAIC Faculty and Alums
Newcity’s October 2018 "Film 50" issue celebrates the work of 50 individuals or collaborators that have helped shape Chicago’s film scene. This year’s issue features several alums and faculty who were celebrated for their unique and influential work.
SAIC community members featured include Film, Video, New Media, and Animation Assistant Professor and alum Melika Bass (MFA 2007), Frédéric Moffet, chair of the Film, Video, New Media, and Animation department, alums Deborah Stratman (BFA 1990), Jennifer Reeder (MFA 1996), Lori Felker (MFA 2007), Laura Ann Harrison (SAIC 2014–17), Shengze Zhu (MFA 2017), Emily Esperanza (BFA 2014), and Molly Hewitt (SAIC 2010–14). In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
