SAIC Fashion Show Covered by the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Magazine, among Others
This year’s annual year-end SAIC Fashion Show held at Venue Six10 at the Spertus Institute on May 4 was covered extensively. The Chicago Tribune, Chicago magazine, Arts Thread and Fashionista mentioned SAIC's annual runway show and exhibition.
The Chicago Tribune noted themes of “self-healing, rising sea levels, a future that might be barren, mixed identities, and tracing maternal lines” in the students’ theses and added that “experimentation and design were taken to the next level.” Chicago magazine deemed it “the season’s premier fashion show” while Fashionista observed that Chicago’s “design and educational talents are impressive.”
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
