Jennifer Park Discusses Balancing Teaching with a Practice in Architecture

Jennifer Park, lecturer in the Department of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects at SAIC and founding principal of Jurassic Studio was featured in an article in Architect magazine about teaching and practicing architecture. Park finds that an enthusiasm for reviews, critiques, and participating in jury sessions point to an inclination to teach. She offers sage advice such as how teaching is a supplement to a practice. "Go to reviews and see if you even like the conversation that’s going on, if you’re engaged and feel like you can contribute," Park says in the article. “You also need to consider if you are in a supportive environment where teaching is something that will be accepted while you’re still employed," she adds.
