Jennifer Chen-Su Huang Awarded Fulbright Fellowship

As a 2017–18 US Fulbright Student Fellowship recipient, Jennifer Chen-Su Huang (MFA 2017) is studying Atayal weaving in Taiwan. The first half of her fellowship she has spent at National Chengchi University, where she worked closely with an ethnography professor. While there, she continuously drew and wove sketches for larger woven artworks that she will fabricate during her fellowship at the Tainan National University of the Arts. Her goal is to research the formation of self and communal identity through textile practices.

The Fulbright Program is the US government’s flagship international educational exchange program and provides grants for individually designed study or research programs. Top producing institutions are highlighted annually in the Chronicle of Higher Education.
