My Favorite Thing is Monsters by Emil Ferris Chosen A Top Book of 2017
With 2018 just around the corner, best of 2017 lists are slowly emerging, and Emil Ferris' (BFA 2008, MFA 2010) graphic novel, My Favorite Thing is Monsters has made two lists. The New York Times' included the novel on its "Times Critic's Top Books of 2017", calling it "an eerie masterpiece of the monsters around and within us." And the novel also made the A.V. Club's "Best Comics of 2017," praising the artwork, which "forces the reader to stop and savor the details."
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
