Gabriela Sacconi Honored for Socially Conscious Garments
Interconnection and the power of "we" were themes in this year's Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA+) Design Graduates. Established in 2013, CFDA+ identifies top graduates from across the globe as emerging talents. Gabriela Sacconi (BFA 2018) was recognized for creating designs that form a narrative between the body, movement, and cloth. Inspired by Colombian social movements, her fashion design thesis looked at how traditional craft can serve as a metaphor for displaced people. Read more about Sacconi and other winners here.
