The Reader Spotlights "The Serenity of Madness"

Describing Apichatpong Weerasethakul (MFA 1998, HON 2011) as "one of the most important filmmakers working today," the Chicago Reader reflects on his show The Serenity of Madness, now on display at the Sullivan Galleries. With over three hours of audiovisual material, the exhibition covers 22 years of Weerasethakul's career—yet doesn't overwhelm, author Ben Sachs notes. At the heart of the director's work is interconnection and how engaging with the world allows for an intimate give and take. Read the full write-up of his show here.
