Candida Alvarez’s Exhibition Reviewed by the Chicago Tribune

There’s something here for everyone,” writes Lori Waxman (Art History, Theory, and Criticism, New Arts Journalism) in a recent review for the Chicago Tribune of Here, a solo exhibition of work by SAIC Professor in the Painting and Drawing department, Candida Alvarez. The exhibit was curated by Professor and Chair of the Painting and Drawing department Terry R. Myers, who also teaches in the Department of Art History, Theory, and Criticism. The exhibition presents a survey of Alvarez’s work from the 1980s to today. There’s still time to see what Waxman calls “one of the summer’s most purely pleasurable exhibitions.” The exhibit runs through this Sunday, August 6, at the Chicago Cultural Center.
