Alum Named One of 2017's CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists

Fashion Design alum Claire Sullivan (BFA 2016) was recently featured with her New York-based design collective, Vaquera, in a Vogue profile of the 2017 Council of Fashion Designers of America/Vogue Fashion Fund (CVFF) Finalists. CVFF is an annual competition that spotlights the next generation of American design talent, with a cash award of $400,000 for the first-prize winner, and $150,000 for the two runners-up. Notable past recipients include Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Rodarte, Derek Lam, and Altuzarra. When asked how it feels to be a CVFF finalist, Vaquera responded, “It’s surreal, because Vaquera did start out so DIY so it’s crazy it’s gotten to this point for us. We were working in our bedrooms at one point. So to be recognized is insane.”
