Stedelijk Museum Names SAIC Alum as New Curator
ArtNews announced that the famed Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam has a new curator of contemporary art and time-based media, SAIC alum Karen Archey (BFA 2008).
Archey, who founded e-flux's conversations section, has written extensively about technology, feminism, and identity. Her previous positions include working as Rhizome's editor-at-large, and as a curator-in-residence at Abrons Art Center in New York. She is also a recipient of a Creative Capital Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant.
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
