Alum Featured in Group Show at Venice Biennale
Alum Lantian Xie (MFA 2012) is one of five artists representing the United Arab Emirates at the 57th Venice Biennale. In a group show called Rock, Paper, Scissors: Positions in Play, the artists will explore how play informs contemporary art practices. According to his Dubai gallery Grey Noise, Xie makes images that address “cosmopolitanism and belonging.” Learn more about the show at The Art Newspaper.
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
