Faculty Member Receives Grant from City
Ann Lui (Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects) and Craig Reschke, partners at the architecture outfit Future Firm, were awarded a grant from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events through the Chicago Architecture Foundation. The money will go toward realizing Rebel Garages, a one-day festival slated for spring 2018 that will bring together multi-hyphenate creatives for pop-up installations in vacant spaces and alleyways. Rebel Garages was one of eight projects to receive funding via the city’s IncentOvate program, which helps finance creative projects across Chicago. DNAInfo offers more details about Rebel Garages.
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
