SAIC Faculty Member Awarded Public Works Project
Following the renovation of the Irving Park Blue Line station, the Chicago Transit Board announced the commission of a public arts project. The contract was awarded to Dan Devening, Adjunct Professor in the Department of Painting and Drawing and the Arts Administration and Policy department. The Addison Station will also celebrate its remodel with a public artwork by Italian artist Francesco Simeti. In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
