Faculty Member's Book Selected as Part of School-Wide Program

University of Alaska Southwest has chosen Mixed: Multiracial College Students Tell Their Life Stories, edited by SAIC faculty member in the Liberal Arts department and Director of Academic Affairs for Diversity and Inclusion Christina Gomez, as the center of its One Book, One Campus program. The program chooses one book annually that all incoming freshmen read and discuss throughout their first-year courses. Mixed is a collection of essays by multiracial undergraduate students on their experiences attending Dartmouth College. Gomez’s book will play a pivotal role in cross-disciplinary discussions about identity in the United States.
