Students Create Light Installation in Homan Square Park

As part of the course, bLUMEN, 10 students from SAIC's Department of Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Designed Objects have created a temporary light installation in Homan Square. The name of the class stems from both the German word for flower and the Latin word for light. The installation, which consists of six 10-foot-tall hexagonal canopies, uses LED horticultural lights to aid in the growth of flowers and vegetables at the base of each canopy. The students worked with the duo Luftwerk and MAS Studio via a course offered though SAIC. Read more about the installation in Architect's Newspaper
