Three Alumni Receive 3Arts Awards
3Arts, a Chicago-based nonprofit arts organization, has honored three members of the SAIC community with unrestricted grants to continue pursuing their work. Alum Alexandria Eregbu (BFA 2013) and alumni and faculty members, Aram Han Sifuentes (MFA 2013) and William Estrada (BFA 2000, MA 2015) will each receive an award for $25,000.
Eregbu, Sifuentes, and Estrada are among the 10 artists honored this year. Now in its ninth year, the 3Arts Awards are presented annually to select women artists, artists of color, and artists with disabilities whose work is based in the areas of dance, teaching arts, visual arts, music, and theater.
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
