Poetry by SAIC Faculty Member Featured on Marsalis and Elling Jazz Album
A poem by SAIC faculty member Calvin Forbes (Writing) was recently featured on the jazz album “Upward Spiral” by distinguished vocalist Kurt Elling and tenor saxophonist Branford Marsalis. Forbes’ poem depicting a childhood memory of a boy and his mother is revamped into a cool jazz piece titled “Momma Said.”
“Upward Spiral” is now available on iTunes.
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
