SAIC Alum and AIADO Faculty Member to Launch Gender-Liberated Undergarments

As a student and now an instructor at SAIC, Brandon Kempe Scanlan (MDes 2013) is working to turn his graduate school thesis into a reality by launching a clothing line that is gender-neutral. The line, Kempe, will launch online in October and the clothing can be purchased in select specialty stores in Chicago and New York later in the year. In an interview with the Windy Times, Kempe Scanlan said he was intrigued "by the way they morph their body to match their mindset" and "the company has really shifted from being about from being just about the transition from one gender to another, to having a healthier body image, having a healthier transformation in whatever capacity you want."
