SAIC Faculty Receive Illinois Arts Council Agency Artist Fellowship Awards
The Illinois Arts Council Agency recently announced the 2014 recipients of its Artists Fellowship Program, which "recognizes exceptional Illinois artists by providing awards to support continued artistic growth." In recognition of their work and commitment to the arts, these artists have each been awarded $15,000. The recipients of this distinguished award include Film, Video, New Media, and Animation faculty and SAIC alum Melika Bass (MFA 2007) and faculty members Daniel Borzutzky (Liberal Arts), Paola Cabal (Painting and Drawing and Contemporary Practices), Daniel Eisenberg (Film, Video, New Media, and Animation), Jeremiah Hulsebos-Spofford (Contemporary Practices), and Alison Ruttan (Painting and Drawing and Contemporary Practices).
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
