Chicago Nonprofit 3Arts Names SAIC Faculty as Award Recipients

3Arts is a Chicago-based nonprofit advocating for women artists, artists of color, and artists with disabilities working in performance (dance, music, and theater), education, and visual arts. This year, SAIC faculty members Irina Botea (Film, Video, New Media, and Animation; Performance; and Photography) and Erica Mott (Performance) were named as two of 10 artists to receive the award. Mott is also a choreographer, while Botea, also an alum (MFA 2004), is a visual artist. The award is unrestricted, and gives the artists "that extra bit of freedom to pursue whatever really matters to them," said 3Arts Executive Director Esther Grisham Grimm.
