Photography Faculty Member Awarded United States Artists Fellowship

SAIC faculty member LaToya Ruby Frazier (Photography) was recently named one of 34 fellows for 2014 by the United States Artists (USA) Program. The program invests in "the fundamental value artists contribute to American society." The award is accompanied by an unrestricted $50,000 prize, reported PDN Pulse, distributed to the artists who work in the fields of architecture and design, crafts and traditional arts, dance, literature, media, music, theater and visual arts. Frazier was selected from a pool of 116 nominated artists. She recently released her first book, The Notion of Family in September, and was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship in April this year.
