SAIC Program Helps CPS Students Learn the Art of Being an Artist

The Chicago Sun-Times recently tagged along with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) students enrolled in SAIC's Inside Innovative Minds course, a program that "exposes students to the many fields in art and design and helps to keep art thriving amid its diminished role in high school classrooms as students are required to take more math, science and language courses." The course serves as a bridge program to allow high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to help transition to higher education, and inform both students and their parents of the many career paths that an art degree offers, said SAIC Dean of Continuing Studies, Rob Bondgren. The story highlighted students, as well as a visit to the studio of SAIC Adjunct Assistant Professor Karolina Gnatowski (Fiber and Material Studies).
