Jean Goldman's Collection Showing at The Art institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago opened the exhibit Strokes of Genius this November, which features Renaissance-period Italian drawings from the private collection of Jean and Steven Goldman, the Sheridan Road Magazine recently reported. The 80 drawings in the exhibition are on paper and represent the studies for commissioned projects in Renaissance art, especially Mannerism—the late Renaissance period and the early 16th century—and early Baroque art. Jean Goldman has published books on 16th- and 17th-century Italian drawings. She is a philanthropist as well as a former faculty member at SAIC, a noted art historian with a specialty in Old Master drawing. SAIC's Jean Goldman Book Prize for faculty is sponsored through her efforts.
