SAIC Alum and Faculty Member Profiled in Chicago Reader’s “People Issue”

Each year, the Chicago Reader publishes “The People Issue” which highlights remarkable Chicagoans making contributions that, while often unrewarded, have a lasting impact on the city. Two artists of the SAIC community are featured in the 2014 edition. Faculty member Paul Nudd (Painting and Drawing) is profiled and discusses how he first became interested in art as well as the elementary classes he teaches and how the kids’ creativity influences his own work. Alum Olivia Block (1996-97) is a sound artist who has received much attention for her experimental work that manipulates piano acoustics in layers. Block also discusses her collaboration with SAIC and faculty member Lou Mallozzi (Sound, BFA 1978).
