Professor Nick Cave Profiled in the Chicago Tribune

The Chicago Tribune featured an interview with Nick Cave—sculptor, fashion designer, internationally famed artist, and SAIC Fashion Design Professor. The artist, who calls Chicago home, is best known for his wearable sculpture pieces that aesthetically reference both the ethnic and the otherworldly using unconventional material from neon colored fur to sound-producing apparatuses.

Cave opened up his home and South Loop studio for the interview, which focused on the bold characteristic his work embodies. The artist challenged the notion and said, “Boldness is in your face. In a sense, boldness, creatively, is a horn. But fearlessness, that is about taking charge, finding your ground.”
