SAIC Alum Wins Award at Rotterdam Film Festival

A distinguished jury at the 2015 International Film Festival in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, awarded SAIC alum Jakrawal Nilthamrong (MFA 2006) a coveted Hivos Tiger Award for his film Vanishing Point. The annual Tiger Awards recognize the three best feature films at the festival that are the filmmakers’ first or second feature-length production. The winners each receive 15,000 euros. Vanishing Point, Nilthamrong's first narrative feature film, grew from the story of a dramatic car accident involving his parents several decades ago. The film follows two very different men who are trying to outrun their torment. Nilthamrong has shown his film and video work in a number of international festivals and is currently a film lecturer at Thammasat University's Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication in Thailand.
