SAIC Student Opens a Vibrant New Gallery Space in Avondale

SAIC student and former instructor Lynn Basa (MFA 2016) has expanded her studio space into a new art gallery in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood. Located at 2912 North Milwaukee Avenue, the gallery, called Corner, aims to create an active and community-oriented atmosphere. A story in Newcity highlights the gallery’s influences: the writings of John Dewey and the multicultural history of the 2912 building. Corner opened its first exhibition on February 7, an interactive story told through a tactile installation and puppetry performance. A lineup of exhibitions is already scheduled throughout the year.
