SAIC Students Awarded Fulbright Fellowships
Heather Beardsley (MFA 2015) and Brendan Hudson (MA 2015) were recently awarded fellowships from the Fulbright US Student Program.
Beardsley will be traveling to Vienna, Austria, in the fall of 2015 to research and collect globes and maps at the Globe Museum, take classes in the Art and Science Program at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and collaborate with the alternative project space Kulturdrogerie to involve the community.
Hudson will be traveling to Porto Alegre, Brazil, in the fall of 2015 to study participatory social processes under leading researcher Dr. Daniel R. Streck. He plans to use his research findings to create murals driven by local artists, youth, and residents to represent local community identity.
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
