Chicago Tribune Spotlights Alum’s Work that Honors Centennial of Armenian Genocide

The Chicago Tribune features the work of SAIC alum and former faculty Jackie Kazarian (MFA 1989). Kazarian’s painting Armenia is part of Project 15, a collection of artwork and studies created to mark the 100-year anniversary of the Armenian genocide. The result of a two-year project of studying ancient maps and Armenian illuminated manuscripts, the painting is intended to be a memorial to Kazarian’s family and a reminder of lessons still to be learned. The painting is on display at Mana Contemporary art center in Pilsen through May 29.
