SAIC Fashion 2015 Raises More than $500,000

On Friday, May 8, SAIC students presented an electrifying multimedia fashion show three times throughout the day, with a final spectacular presentation at THE WALK, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s (SAIC) annual fashion show gala. Artist and faculty member Claudia Hart thrilled audiences with a special performance of THE DOLLS, and world-renowned fashion critic and video journalist Diane Pernet received the Legend of Fashion Award for her pioneering work on her fashion blog A Shaded View of Fashion.

More than 1,000 people attended the daytime fashion shows, and nearly 500 people attended THE WALK this year, which was cochaired by Ellen Sandor and Stephanie Sick. The event raised more than $500,000 to support SAIC’s fashion program and student scholarships.
