SAIC Professor’s Forthcoming Novel Published by Pantheon
Jesse Ball, professor in the Writing Department at SAIC, will have his book A Cure for Suicide published July 21 by Pantheon Books. “In the novel, a man relearning basic functions in life encounters a woman who makes him question his progress," wrote Jeremy Mikula in the Chicago Tribune.
In 2008 Ball received The Paris Review's Plimpton Prize; in 2014 he received an NEA creative writing fellowship and a Los Angeles Book Prize; and this year Ball was named a finalist for the Young Lions Fiction Award. ACure for Suicide will be Ball's fifth novel among other published works of short prose, poetry, and drawings.
