Mathias "Spider" Schergen Featured on NPR's All Things Considered

SAIC alum Mathias “Spider” Schergen (BFAAE 1980) taught art at Jenner Elementary Academy for the Arts for the last 23 years. Schergen recently retired, and NPR’s All Things Considered covered his last day of school. Schergen’s efforts and influence earned him the most prestigious teaching award in Chicago, the Golden Apple, as well as the love, appreciation, and respect of the parents, students, and teachers at the elementary school.
