National Science Foundation Awards $3.1 Million to Array of Things

WBEZ reports that the National Science Foundation awarded $3.1 million to Array of Things as part of the White House's Smart Cities initiative.

Array of Things (AoT) is collaboration between SAIC, the University of Chicago, the Argonne National Laboratory, Northern Illinois University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and will install sensory monitors on city street posts that will measure things such as climate, air quality and noise. The goal is to collect data that will aid in making the city more livable, for example, improving how the city responds to traffic jams or flooding and perhaps influencing policy changes.
