SAIC Alumni’s Light Sculptures on view at the Garfield Park Conservatory
Petra Bachmaier (BFA 1999) and Sean Gallero (BFA 1998), the artist duo operating under the name Luftwerk, have new work on view at the Garfield Park Conservatory. Solarise: a sea of colors consists of four light sculptures incorporated into the Conservatory’s architecture. Featured in Chicago Magazine, Bachmaier says, “Light is a beautiful medium. It changes the way you look at the world.” Past projects include projections of moving light onto Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House.
