SAIC Figures Prominently in Newcity’s Art 50 2015: Chicago’s Visual Vanguard

Newcity’s annual “Art 50” list, considered to be a snapshot of Chicago’s art ecosystem, features many SAIC faculty and alumni. Coming in at number 10, is our own SAIC Dean of Faculty, Lisa Wainwright. Wainwright is commended for leading a faculty of more than 150 full-time and nearly 700 part-time instructors, and for her success straddling the spheres of artistic practice and scholarship. Others celebrated include Douglas Druick (HON 2015), President and Eloise W. Martin Director of the Art Institute of Chicago museum; SAIC’s 2014 William and Stephanie Sick Distinguished Visiting Artist Theaster Gates; Rhona Hoffman (HON 2015), owner of Rhona Hoffman Gallery; Lisa Key, former SAIC faculty member in Arts Administration and the Chief Development Officer of the Museum of Contemporary Art; Shane Campbell, faculty member in Art History, Theory, and Criticism and owner of Shane Campbell Gallery; Duncan MacKenzie (MFA 2002) Co-Founder of Bad at Sports; Mary Jane Jacob, faculty member in Sculpture, Arts Administration and Policy, and Art History, Theory, and Criticism and Executive Director of Exhibitions at SAIC Sullivan Galleries; Gregg Bordowitz, Program Director of SAIC's Low-Residency MFA program and Faculty; and Allison Glenn (Dual MA 2012) Director of Monique Meloche Gallery.
