SAIC alum receives 2015 Meier Achievement Award

SAIC alum Damon Locks (BFA 1991) is one of four recipients of the 10th Meier Achievement Award for 2015, by the Helen Coburn Meier and Tim Meier Charitable Foundation for the Arts. The award recognizes mid-career artists in Chicago for their innovation, past achievements, and community contributions. Locks, a multimedia artist, produces work that discuss people and their landscape with narrative themes of protest, unrest, and tension woven throughout. He incorporates processes of drawing, digital manipulation, silkscreen, and photography in his practice. The foundation will bestow awards at Thanksgiving, to emphasize the gratitude expressed for the work created.
