SAIC’s Design and Construction project recognized with awards from AIA and ALA
This fall, the new SAIC Career Co-op Center and Student Affairs / Enrollment Management Renovation project received two awards for design excellence. Both jobs were completed in collaboration with JGMA and Mortenson Construction. The Chicago Chapter of the American Institute of Architects awarded a Citation of Merit while the Association of Licensed Architects awarded an ALA Gold Medal. Knocking down walls and color-coding areas makes it easier for students to navigate different departments and provides a more pleasurable visual experience.
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
