Student Chosen as Semi-Finalist for "Future Founders"
Future Founders, a non-profit organization that believes every youth can become an entrepreneur, announced 24 semi-finalists for its 2nd Annual U.Pitch College Elevator Pitch Competition & Showcase. SAIC student Callie Spiros (BFA 2018) was chosen for her project, Kalí Zoë, a jewelry company that utilizes pressure points to benefit its wearer, based on physiological studies that show decreased levels of stress and anxiety and an increased ability to empathize and focus. Spiros’ proposed company aims to “expose conscious living and enhance well-being.”
The semifinalists will showcase their business ideas in an expo-style format on December 7.

In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
