Time Out Interviews SAIC Alum David Alekhuogie
In an interview with Time Out, SAIC alum David Alekhuogie (BFA 2013) discusses his BOLT artist residency at the Chicago Artist Coalition and his solo exhibition A Thin Blue Line. Alekhuogie’s works in photography, painting, and sculpture explore tension and dissonance through hip hop music and culture. In the profile, Alekhuogie reflects, "I think it’s way more interesting to sell people something and then make them a little bit skeptical of that thing. People should be skeptical. People should be curious about everything they are doing and all the decisions that they are making at any given moment."
In celebration of alum Georgia O’Keeffe: My New Yorks opening current SAIC students were invited to submit artworks inspired by O’keeffe and the city of Chicago.
