SAIC Ranks as a Top Producer of US Fulbright Fellows

The Chronicle of Higher Education reports that the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), once again, ranks among the top producers of US Fulbright Scholars for specialized institutions. Sponsored by the US Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright Program aims to increase multicultural exchange and encourage international understanding. Since 2002, 32 students have represented SAIC as US Fulbright Fellows in 23 countries.

Last year’s Fulbright Students were Heather Beardsley (MFA 2015) and Brendan Hudson (MA 2015, BFA 2009). Beardsley is currently in Vienna studying in the Art and Science Program at the University of Applied Arts and doing research at the Globe Museum at the Austrian National Library. Hudson will be in Porto Alegre, Brazil to study participatory social processes under leading researcher Dr. Daniel R. Streck.

SAIC awaits the results of three Fulbright semi-finalists for next fall: Paulina Ramirez Parra (BFA 2016), travelling to Taiwan; Nicholas Jackson (BFA 2011), travelling to Ukraine, and Sarah Williams (MFA 2014), travelling to Germany.
