SAIC Alum Lucy Knisley Gives Literature Something New
SAIC alum Lucy Knisley (BFA 2007) intended to be a painter but found comics during her time on campus. Five graphic novels later, it's clear that she made the right choice. Her most recent book Something New: Tales From a Makeshift Bride combines humor with memoir and image with text to tell the ridiculous story of her nuptials. The Washington Post praises Knisley's work and "winningly wry eye." An Eisner-nominee, Knisley is sure to continue drawing outside of the lines.
