September 2023: Faculty and Staff Accomplishments
Associate Professor Jonas Becker’s performance New Normal will take place at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago on September 9 and 10. The work was developed with a number of SAIC grads, and Adrian Wood (MFA 2019) and Sami Ismat (MFA 2020) are participating in the upcoming presentation.
Associate Professor, Adj. Sonja Thomsen was selected for the inaugural cohort of Ruth Arts Mary L. Nohl Alumni Awardees from the Lynden Sculpture Garden. The award includes $25,000 in unrestricted funds, and invites the new cohort to participate in the co-creation of an artist support network by identifying and cultivating career-sustaining opportunities for local artists.
