SAIC Helps Bridge LGBTQ+ Generational Divide Through Art and Dialogue

Featured in CBS News Chicago, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is a key partner in the LGBTQ+ Intergenerational Dialogue Project, which aims to bridge the generational divide within the LGBTQ+ community through art and dialogue. Launched in 2019, the project addresses the lack of interaction between elder and younger LGBTQ+ individuals by creating opportunities for meaningful conversations and collaborative art-making. Also supported by the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Chicago, and Center on Addison at Center on Halsted, the initiative highlights SAIC's dedication to fostering community engagement and inclusivity. The project also partners with Gerber/Hart Library and Archives to preserve and celebrate the community's creative contributions.
