SAIC Community Members Shine in NewCity's Latest Issue
The latest issue of NewCity highlights the exceptional work of several prominent figures from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Professor Arnold Kemp is featured in an in-depth interview about his upcoming exhibition Un-make | Un-model. Kemp’s multimedia work, influenced by free jazz and punk, delves into themes of repetition, time, and collaboration, offering a glimpse into his ever-evolving artistic process.
Acclaimed installation artist and alum Edra Soto (MFA 2000) is celebrated for her exhibition La Casa de Todos | Everyone’s Home, a four-part installation in Cleveland exploring Latinx migration, cultural memory, and displacement. The exhibition, deeply embedded in Cleveland's Latinx community, reflects the stories of migration and cultural survival.
