SAIC Alum Jennie C. Jones Wins 2024 Heinz Award for the Arts

School of the Art Institute of Chicago alum Jennie C. Jones (BFA 1991) has been named a 2024 Heinz Award winner for the Arts. Recognized for her multidisciplinary works in painting, collage, sculpture, and sound, Jones engages with American modernism, minimalism, and avant-garde music. Her exhibitions include Higher Resonance at the Hirshhorn Museum and Dynamics at the Guggenheim Museum, the latter being the first solo presentation by a Black woman in the museum’s rotunda. Jones joins a distinguished group of nine other Heinz Award winners making groundbreaking contributions in the arts, economy, and environment.
