Preservation Challenges of Modernist Structures Symposium

The SAIC Historic Preservation Program was well represented at IIT’s Crown Hall on April 21, when the Association for Preservation Technology Western Great Lakes Chapter and Docomomo US/Chicago Chapter co-hosted a full day symposium on the specific challenges posed by preservation of recent past resources.  Presenters included Regina Nally (MS 1998) of the General Services Administration, Donna Weiss (MS 1997) of Preserve LLC, and current MS candidate Nicole Frank, who provided a comprehensive talk on mid-century glazed glass block.  Faculty members Richard Freidman and Neal Vogel also presented.
